A new “Live At Studio Delux” series featuring Tommy And The High Pilots starts today with the release of their cover of Rihanna’s hit “Stay” on our brand spankin’ new YouTube channel! The Pilots are an incredibly talented, and unbelievably hard-working group. They’ve taken their high-energy live show on the road for the past 5 years. Logging hundreds of appearances (and hundreds of thousands of van miles) across the U.S. each year in clubs, theaters, and at festivals. No town is too small to warrant a show, and no fan goes unrecognized. We’ve watched them grow as performers, musicians, and writers, and are THRILLED to bring you this series of live in-studio performances. Tommy And The High Pilots are Tommy Cantillon (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Cantillon (guitar, keys, backing vocals), Steve Libby (bass), and Matt “P-Mo” Palermo (drums, backing vocals). This series also features amazing guitarist Casey Hooper on both electric and lap steel guitars.
…and we just got word that the video is currently featured on the 104.3 MyFM Los Angeles website! And if you’re in L.A., or listening online, you’ll be hearing about it on air as well!
I’m not going to be coy about this. It’s pretty damn cool when a band puts up a video for a song we worked on, and 3 days later it’s already cracked 75.000 views! I had the pleasure of producing, mixing, and engineering the “These Days” EP for Thick As Thieves. They’ve just released a video for their single “Please Don’t (Come To California).” Directed by the talented Zach Mann. We worked INCREDIBLY hard to pull together all of the seemingly impossible-to-blend elements this band brings to the table: Programmed grooves, live drums, hip-hop, classic rock and roll guitars, alternative edge, moody soundscapes, and great musicianship. Not to mention some catchy tunes and killer lyrics! All of which are on display here. Check it out!
